P-town! Ferries, fans and lots of fun

I don’t even know where to begin. My first time at Provincetown was everything and more than I had imagined.

Traveling, of course, was exhausting, but our wonderful Realtor, Bea Smith, had secured a really great place for me, my partner and three of our friends.

We walked and walked and walked, it seemed from one end of Commercial Street to the other so many times. We got home Sunday evening and it’s taken me two long nights of sleep and several naps to find some energy again.

I loved the readings, but liked most talking with fans about what they like and don’t like. That helps as I plan out my next book.

It was a rare opportunity to put faces with many of the names that I see online every day. And the chance to make new friends. Here’s a shout out to the very entertaining Lydia, Paula and Anna from Scotland and the UK, who we partied with at the Pied. Wild, lovely women.

A highlight was meeting Judy Francesconi and getting her to sign her book, Visual Sonnets, which I’ve had on my coffee table for the past eight years.

I reveled in the chance to talk about writing with so many of my fellow authors, and I do finally feel famous now that I’ve been immortalized in one of Carsen Taite’s very popular vlogs. Thanks, Carsen.

Can’t wait for Palm Springs in March.
